As you know the internet is a big 'place' with everything about anything so we aim to bring you relevant news and events, and provide opportunities to share ideas with other people interested in this subject. So far there are over 800 members, and more than 500 articles in our archive.

All community groups have stalwart members who know all the ropes and have seen it all before. But sooner or later, that great mass of information in their heads needs to be passed on to others, to bring in new blood and ideas. And sometimes, passing it on just isn't that easy. With that in mind, the Scottish Centre for Intergenerational Practice has released a Guide to Mentoring Across Generations and are running free workshops on the topic as well.

Helping the oldies pass on information to the newbies means a community group can stay dynamic, as well as ensuring the work is fairly distributed. To enable people to pass on their wealth of knowledge in a way that works for everyone, this guide looks at how different generations can work together. It includes sections on how to support each other and learn new skills as well as tackling some age-based stereotypes. In addition, free half-day workshops on inter-generational mentoring are being held in a range of locations around Scotland in November and December. You can download a copy of the guidance here:
