Over 70 delegates attended the Community Land Scotland (CLS) Annual Conference in the Isle of Mull last week. The event included a mix of workshops, case histories, reflections and looking in detail at housing opportunities for community landowners. Di Alexander and Ronnie MacRae provided presentations on housing and, in what is a complex area, CLS hope to follow up with further work on simplifying what is possible.
David Cameron, CLS chair, spoke after the conference. "We're grateful for support from HIE, CarnegieUK Trust, Argyll and Bute Council, the hosts North West Mull Community Woodland Company and the North Harris Trust for their organization. We'd also like to thank to Mark from Knoydart who collected people from Knoydart, Sleat in Skye, the Isle of Eigg and the Isle of Rum in his Rib and conveyed them to Tobermory in less than three hours, which is worth considering for future conferences being held on the West Coast."
You can keep up to date with the work of CLS on their website.
