The Community Land Scotland (CLS)  Annual Conference will be in Tobermory, Isle of Mull from mid-Tuesday 13th March until the afternoon of Wednesday 14th March and is being hosted by the North West Mull Community Woodland Company.

The first part of the Conference, supported by HIE and CarnegieUK Trust, concentrates on policy issues. The main topics will be the proposed new Scottish Land Fund; the Crown Estate; the review of the Land Reform Act and transfer of public land into community ownership.  There will also be workshops to provide an opportunity to raise and comment on new issues which might have an influence on the work of CLS.

The second day includes looking at current housing opportunities for community landowners.  Di Alexander, long-time campaigner and authority on affordable housing, will be giving the main presentation.  There'll also be the launch of Professor James Hunter's latest book which is the story of Community Landownership from its first emergence right up to the present time.  Finally on the Wednesday afternoon there is an opportunity to see the development work being carried out by the North West Mull Community Woodland Company.
