The five year anniversary of the buy-out of the South Uist estate has been marked by an article in the West Highland Free Press focusing on the future for community buy-outs.
In the article, Brian Wilson praises Storas Uibhist for what they've achieved on the South Uist estate. But he highlights the lack of current buy-outs and questions the political will for community ownership. Inevitably this comes back to a focus on funding availability and he closes with a call for the launch of a new Scottish Land Fund.
