The report includes some of the historical background to community ownership as well as reviewing the scale and type of assets that are currently in community ownership or management. It highlights some of the benefits of community ownership, such as increased employment and the restoration of disused buildings, but also picks up on some of the difficulties that communities can encounter when taking on asset management. The report concludes that the extent of available information on community ownership could be improved in order to guide future policy and practice. You can find both a summary and the full report here.
