The UK government has announced some further details for their planned Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.

The scheme will use tariff payments which will be paid for the amount of eligible heat produced.  The first phase of the scheme will be targeted at the non-domestic sector, which can include community heating projects and heating being installed by organisations and businesses.  Support will be available for a range of technologies, with tariff payments being paid quarterly over a 20 year period.  Information about the scheme sets out the proposed tariff levels, but remains sketchy on the application process.  The regulations which will underpin the scheme are expected to be introduced to the UK Parliament in the summer and the scheme will begin shortly after that.
