Highland forestry hydro-power?

User Rating:  / 0
PoorBest

Forestry Commission Scotland have asked Green Highland Renewables Ltd (GHR) to explore the options for developing small-scale hydro schemes within the national forest estate in the north-west Highlands.

GHR will identify potential sites and schemes which, if agreed by the Commission, could be taken forward to planning and construction stages.  Communities in the vicinity of operational schemes will be given the chance to invest in the schemes, although there are few details so far on how that investment process might work.

For further information, see the Forestry Commission Scotland press release.
