Forestry Commission Scotland recently invited energy companies to join them in partnerships to deliver wind and small-scale hydro energy projects. With the Commission managing around a tenth of Scotland's land mass, it has plenty of scope for exploring the potential for new projects. And the Cimate Change (Scotland) bill aims to allow them to develop joint ventures with both developers and local communities to deliver renewable energy projects. Forestry Commission Scotland have set up a new website to provide further information, which you can find at http://www.forestry.gov.uk/windhydro. The site includes a section on opportunities for communities, which highlights the potential to use the National Forest Land Scheme for community developments.
