The Crofting Reform Bill was endorsed by the Scottish Parliament earlier this month and will now proceed to stage two to examine the detail of the bill.

After the stage one debate, the parliament passed a motion supporting the principles of the bill and it'll now return to the committee for further scrutiny before a final vote.  The Scottish Crofting Federation praised the parliamentary committee who had reviewed the bill so far, but still have concerns over the proposed crofting register.

You can find further details in the Scottish Government press release and if you've got a spare 2 hours and 22 minutes, you can watch a recording of the debate here!

Elsewhere on the political scene, the Scottish Government published a summary of consultation responses to the proposed Wildlife and Natural Environment Bill.  You can download the summary report here.
