A new book by Andy Wightman will be published in October, looking at the history of land ownership in Scotland.
Entitled 'The poor had no lawyers - who owns Scotland and how they got it', the book looks at how Scotland's common lands were converted into private ownership, as well as bringing the story up to date with our 21st century land reform legislation. Published by Birlinn, the book will be available in October and you can find further information here. You can also see Andy's recent comments on the Macrihanish ruling (see previous article), which make for interesting reading.
