Local People Leading - land reform seminar

The Local People Leading group (an informal alliance of national and regional networks, local community groups and individuals) recently coordinated a seminar on land reform.

The event was attended by a range of individuals and Andy Wightman started the seminar with an introduction to the historical and policy background to land reform.  The subsequent discussion covered a range of topics, including

  • the lack of available funding;
  • the potential for using techniques such as Social Return on Investment to show public benefit, and
  • the need for further research on community aspirations.

Notes from the seminar have now been provided and you can access them here.  You can find further information on Local People Leading and their Land Reform campaign here.  A further seminar is planned for early 2010.
