Community assets come to The Archers

OK, so maybe you'll tell me I need to get out more, but it's interesting (I think!) to see that the idea of community-managed assets has made it into the storyline of The Archers, the BBC's long-running rural soap. The future of the Ambridge shop has been the talk of the radio recently, but the idea of the local community taking over and managing the shop themselves was finally floated last week.  It remains to be seen if the producers decide to develop the idea further, but it's encouraging that community ownership is making it into the mainstream media.  Well, if the Archers is mainstream media?!
