The residents of Rum have said yes to the proposed transfer of assets from Scottish Natural Heritage to the local community.
Of the 17 people on the island who were eligible to vote, 15 voted for the asset transfer and just two against. The stage is now set for the first phase of the transfer to begin, with Michael Russell suggesting that the initial transfer could take place before the end of February.
