Speak up for rural Scotland consultation

The Scottish government has launched a consultation on the future of rural Scotland.

The consultation was launched at Turriff Show in early August and will run for three months.  The consultation document looks at some of the plans devised by the Rural Development Council to aid economic recovery in Scotland.  Covering topics such as rural economies, multi-purpose land use, renewable energy and sustaining rural communities, the document includes 37 'step changes' which could benefit rural Scotland.  And whilst there's no doubt that they make for a promising vision for the country, there's no indication of how those step changes could be implemented, or funded.

You can access the consultation document here and responses should be submitted by October 25th, 2010.
