At the end of last month, the Scottish Government, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA), the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) and the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) published a joint statement on the relationship between government and the third sector.  The statement sets out an intention to achieve a successful relationship between the Scottish government, local government and the third sector.  It covers various issues, including the nature of funding provision and the relationship with community planning.  Although the statement has been welcomed by some third sector representatives, others have expressed concern at its reliance on a 'single interface' to represent the third sector.  Will the diversity of organisations involved in the third sector be lost that way or is any 'interface' better than none?  To see what you think, you can download a copy of the statement here.
