August 3rd, 2009 saw the introduction of several changes to the planning process as a result of the Planning etc (Scotland) 2006 Act. In response, Planning Aid Scotland have launched a new leaflet, advice line and podcast series to explain how they can help communities and individuals with planning related matters.
The changes to the planning system have the potential to give communities a greater say in the decisions that affect them. Planning Aid Scotland can provide free, impartial advice on planning issues and they also run a series of training courses to help people participate more effectively in the planning system. To encourage more people to use their services, they've produced a leaflet and podcast series which use examples to demonstrate how you can be involved in the new planning system. You can find further information, including the leaflet and podcasts on the Planning Aid Scotland website.
