The Scottish Government has asked Community Energy Scotland and the Scottish Agricultural College to undertake a feasibility study into early stage financing for renewable energy projects. The study will look into the potential for a loan fund, which could be available to both community groups and landowners / farming businesses.  It'll also look at financing options during the high risk, pre-planning stages of a renewable energy project.  The study group is due to report back to the government in three months, but in the meantime you can find further details here.
