Funding of £96.6 million was awarded in the most recent round of the Rural Priorities fund, whilst application deadlines have been extended slightly in the spring round to take account of the bad weather.

Over 1,000 separate projects were approved in the November round of the Rural Priorities strand of the Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP).  Included in these was a proposal to develop a campsite, bunkhouse and campervan park on a North Uist croft, which should help tackle some of the machair camping issues highlighted on the SCLN forum last summer.

For future proposals, applications for the spring round now need to be submitted by January 25th and committed by February 12th, 2010.  You can find further details on the SRDP website.
