LEADER funding rate rises

The Scottish Government used their first rural gathering event in Perth to announce an increase in the LEADER funding rate for projects in rural areas.

The grant rate was set at 50%, but the government is aiming to increase that to 90%, reducing the need to find match funding.  They've also announced that the Rural Priorities community services and facilities option will be transferred out of the Rural Priorities system and into the LEADER process.  That means that after November all applications within that option will be assessed by the Local Action Group and not the Regional Proposal Assesssment Committees.  For further information, see their website.
