A round-up of a few funding bits and bobs that have appeared this month:

The BIG lottery fund has launched its new Community Spaces Scotland programme.  The programme aims to bring communities together around a space or place that matters to them such as a park or community centre.  The programme is geographically targeted and you can check if your area is eligible on the BIG website.

The CSV Action Earth grants are currently open for applications.  There are three types of grant:  easy access £50 grants for groups of volunteers wanting to carry out practical environmental work in their community; £250 grants for projects that are improving or creating habitats for wildlife which will enhance biodiversity in Scotland and £500 grants for work on Local Nature Reserves.  The grants are distributed on a first come, first served basis and you can find further details here.

The EDF Green Energy Fund supports renewable energy generation projects for non-profit organisations across the UK.   The fund can provide up to 50% funding for a project, up to a maximum of £30,000.  The next closing date for applications is August 31st, 2011 and you can find further details here.

The Scottish Power Green Energy Trust also supports community groups to develop renewable energy.  Grants of up to £25,000 are available and applications for the current round would need to be submitted by August 15th, 2011.  Further details can be found here.
