This site is for people interested in the management and ownership of land-based assets by communities in Scotland. A Scottish Community Land Network, you might say... As you know the internet is a big 'place' with everything about anything so we aim to bring you relevant news and events, and provide opportunities to share ideas with other people interested in this subject. So far there are over 800 members, and more than 500 articles in our archive.

We hope you will join the network so that you can share your views, experiences and aspirations of owning and managing land-based assets.

You can join for FREE - all you need is a valid email address. You'll receive a monthly email digest of news and views from the network, and get access to all the interactive features of this site, which show up when you log in.

A few snippets of funding information for those on the search for cash....

The Lankelly Chase Foundation has a funding programme entitled Local people, local places, which aims to help local organisations find long term solutions to local issues and engage individuals to transform communities for the benefit of all.  Applications are sought from community owned and managed organisations for either revenue or capital grants up to £50,000.  Their guidelines state that priority for capital grants will be given to organisations working in more remote rural areas of the UK.  You can find further information on their website.

Groups with an annual income under £25,000 can apply for £1,000 funding and training from the Voluntary Action Fund community chest grants.  They are particularly keen to fund activities which help to build and develop strong organisations. The next deadline is 31st March 2010 and you can find further information here.

The dates for the next two rounds of Scotland Rural Development Programme (SRDP) Rural Priorities scheme have been announced.  Applications for the summer round need to be submitted by June 1st and committed by July 5th.  Further details here.

Transition Scotland have some funding available for inter community visits within Scotland.  So if there's a project you and your community group would like to go and visit to get ideas and inspiration for your own transition actions, have a look at their website for details - but bear in mind applications need to be in before the end of March.
