A report has been published which highlights concerns among the voluntary sector in England over the Big Lottery Fund's (BIG) independence. The report, entitled 'Wherever there is money there is influence: Exploring BIG's impact on the Third Sector' has been published by the Third Sector Research Centre. It's based on interviews and discussions with stakeholders in England and looks at the role and impact of BIG in the third sector. Some respondents suggested that Big was overly bureaucratic and had a select circle of organisations exerting too much influence over decision-making. There were also concerns over the organisation's independence and the impact of Coalition government policies.
