The much-talked-about dormant bank account money may be on its way - finally.
The Scottish government has given formal instructions to the Big lottery fund on the themes to be used when distributing the money. The four themes are:
- Opportunities for children and young people
- Addressing health inequalities through increased activity
- Bridging the gap between older and young people
- Creating community based employment opportunities
It's hoped that the first grants might be going out by spring 2012 - you can read more about the developments in the Scottish government's press release. Big have also put out a press release, which re-iterates these themes, but also suggests that an over-arching aim for the programme should be to “support children and young people most in need”.
