The UK government appears to have confirmed that the Big lottery fund's share of lottery money will be reduced from 50% to 40%.
The potential reduction was an early suggestion from the new coalition government (see previous article) and is included in a recently published 'Structural Reform Plan', issued by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Although the plan suggests it will consult on the percentage change, it also puts a date on introducing a statutory instrument to enforce the change, suggesting the decision is already made. The plan also says the Big lottery fund must stop funding 'politicised projects' and that all lottery distributors must reduce their administrative costs to 5% of income.
You can read the full reform plan here.
