A new crowdfunding website for the third sector in the UK has been launched.
The idea of crowdfunding is to allow groups or individuals to appeal directly to the public (or crowd) for funding for a specific project. SoLoCo have launched a website which aims to direct the power of crowdfunding (as used to support Obama's presidential campaign) into third sector projects. Seven Scottish projects have currently signed up and are pitching for funding, including the renovation of the Glencanisp walled garden in Assynt.
